Having an internal design department consisting of four highly qualified Landscape Architects, enables us to work closer with and interpret other designers’ drawings better to ensure the designs are properly constructed. It also enables us to suggest ways of reducing construction costs to our clients.

Recently Mr Johann Rupert entrusted Golf Data with the design of a “World Class” practice facility at Leopard Creek for South Africa’s National Development of golfers and for professionals to hone every shot imaginable. As a result Golf Data was also tasked with the redesign and construction of the Leopard Creek golf course which hosts the annual Dunhill Championship.
Golf Data has collaborated with many famous golf course designers and golfers on an array of both local and international projects.
Nicklaus Design
Golf Data was appointed the official southern African representative for Nicklaus Design in 1995. Nicklaus Design is the design firm of the legendary Jack Nicklaus, Athlete of the century and a winner of 18 majors-undeniably the greatest golfer in history. Nicklaus has been as prolific at golf course design as he has been a competitor. His body of works includes an unparalleled array of championship layouts that have attracted honours and world class tournaments.
Golf Data has been privileged to have worked with Nicklaus Design on 7 completed Jack Nicklaus Signature golf courses in South Africa, all at an international calibre of standards. Our 7th and latest masterpiece, Steyn City, is quickly becoming iconic in the golfing industry and a must play on the Gauteng and South African golf circuit.
Ernie Els Design
Golf Data has been privileged to have worked with Ernie Els Design on 2 of the completed golf courses that the company has open for play. The courses are all fast-winning awards and becoming a leader in golf course design internationally. Both the courses that Golf Data built with Ernie Els Design won awards best new course in Gauteng for Copperleaf in 2008 and Oubaai won Best Golf Resort in South Africa’ at CNBC African Property Awards 2007 and Hyatt Regency Oubaai Golf Resort & Spa is named Luxury Golf Resort of the world at the 2012 World Luxury Hotel Awards.
Greg Letsche
Golf Data has worked closely with Greg Letsche over three decades in both his capacities as head designer at Nicklaus Design and in his role as head designer at Ernie Els Design. Greg Letsche is a design associate of Golf Data bringing his many years of experience working all over the world with some of the top names in golf.
Greg has an unmatched zeal for the game of golf, mixed with a unique heritage of working with industry greats such as Pete Dye, Jack Nicklaus, Ernie Els and Vijay Singh which has moulded the most comprehensive golf course designer. “I have stood shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the game’s most inspirational figures on pieces of land that are now home to some of the world’s most iconic venues.” Greg has worked in over 25 countries, across over 45 golf course projects.
