The Scope
The design and construction of a highly specialised golf practice and junior development facility.
The Challenge
The brief was to create far more than a standard driving range. The facility needed to support player development by offering a wide range of real playing conditions, from different slopes and lies to varied wind directions and short-game scenarios.
Our Approach
Golf Data designed and built a circular practice facility that allows players to practise into the wind, across the wind, uphill, downhill and from different teeing positions. The facility includes proper target greens, varied practice areas, a nine-hole par-three course inspired by famous golf holes and an expansive short-game environment.
The Outcome
Widely regarded as one of the finest practice facilities of its kind, the Leopard Creek National Junior Development Centre combines technical training, creativity and playability in an environment designed to prepare players for real golf.
